it's only

been years...
i recently became an official 40 year old virgin, and decided to reply to a revlife post about celibacy... short short version... i'm blessed with relationships i keep up with about as well as this blog... no joke, so why wish for more drama when i din,t keep up with what i have, BUT i DO have great blessings in my singleness, including the right to play the audio Bible 24/7 at my house. i also can leave problem situations without fear of harming a wife or child.
i just reread some of my old posts... east (er) was pretty good to look to again, given next sunday's importance. made me think about how little my views have changed, BUT i have learned that the king in the O.T. who prayed for more life was given a gift i had never noticed: his son was conceived during that time! i had always looked upon this"extra" time as a downfall of an itherwise great man... i mean the guy got proud and ill... but i never noticed that God game him more than merely more time, but blessings: a child and sunrises, time with his wife, etc.
i also note that many miracles for individuals are often more closely related to people slantwise effected by the miracle: ishmael's mom sees water to save ishmael (& her), adam & eve given grace of years of life to have kids rather than immediate death, the king given life and has son, abraham's servant prays at well& isaac gets wife & kids, abraham hears god & sees ram in thicket saves isaac, noah warned of god and 8 people saved from flood, lazarus given extremely long life which was prophecied to die before flood (great mercy for people in his great age... and more time for noah to build(?)), jesus born lives perfect life and dies... for OUR sins. god gives us gifts, but often those gifts are used for others even more than for us... and we may never know how our blessings have helped the world at large and vice versa... so be very thankful for your blessings... god may be giving you a gift that is designed to effect another's life even more positively than yours... gladly did jesus give and bless and that gift and blessing keeps building from life to life, soul to soul... even to blessing our holy Father in heaven. i'm so amazed! what about you?
for god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
you've just heard god's message, what's yours?
may god direct, keep and bless you and yours and give you the godly desires of your heart, clay

What are your dreams? Have any of your dreams ever come true?

I have tons of dreams, and I WORK to make them come true. I plan, and work, and fail, and plan and work again...

I had a year where I had almost every (non-day-dream type dream - like marrying Salma Hayak sort of things) dream I had at the time come true.

I expect to have my next set of dreams come true, also - vacation with family in SC, house, mobile home, begin commercial writing (I have to learn to drop sidenotes first though), all sorts of things that I DO expect to do!

WORK AT YOUR DREAMS, or else they'll never be REAL memories of accomplishments and steps to new and greater dreams!

I just answered this Featured Question; you can answer it too!

Since I've done Easter already, how about my edited daily prayer...

Prayer list daily:

Our Lord's Prayer (Disciples' Prayer) edited (edits in BLACK are my additions, blue are sidenotes),

Our Father in heaven (^sometimes including alternate titles and descriptions that personally 'move' me, like "papa God"^)

Hallowed be thy name,

Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done,

In Earth (and in me, and in my family, friends, neighbors, fellow believers, loved ones, fellow students, fellow workers, leaders in this nation both small and great, (people and leaders in whatever place is especially noted as having severe troubles at the time), the leaders of Israel, and especially I pray for the leaders and peace of Jerusalem, for they shall profit that love her,^ this list of people very close to my heart is expanded to individuals by (name, nickname, or group) as associated to me by personal friendship, family ties, or other personal relationship, and including special add-ons as I feel led, or have time for as I'm usually driving when I pray this prayer and sometimes I loop several sections multiple times so that I am sure that I am also praying each section with my heart as well as my voice^ )

As it is in heaven,

Give us this day our daily bread (and thank you for it and bless it to our bodies),

And forgive us our debts

As we forgive our debtors (and help us to forgive them in such a way that it glorifies you, helps them, and helps us),

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil (both internal and external),

For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

^Names listed in the prayer list are commonly listed in groups such as "the B_____'s, the C____ Crew, the T_____ family", both from interest in brevity, and my weakness for forgetting the names of people otherwise important to me, often losing their names completely until I check with their family or associates. Additional personal note to self: I need to talk to people to get the names which I have been listing by relationship only, such as "B___'s daughters".

I also have a specialty list that I up to this time have almost NEVER prayed for in my daily prayers but whom I SAY I love and care for, which I am thinking to add maybe in rotation throughout the week, so that I can start to put the power of (my weak faith, but faith nonetheless) to action in their lives.

Such action is by the power of the (often misunderstood of myself and additionally emotionally hurt by, and spiritually limited to work good in and through me by, my often sinning, but yet eternally and continually loving and forgiving and helpful) Holy Spirit, in the will of our (often insulted and sometimes belittled {I read a quote in a sci-fi book called ...?... Chess With The Dragon, "You damn me with faint praise."} - sigh - hopefully much more by others than myself, but I somehow doubt I could insult him more without trying VERY hard) Holy Father, through our beloved (but often less than honored in level with his love and sacrificeS for both myself and all others) saviour, God, and Master - Jesus Christ, who is Master by right of co-eternal Godhood, his actions the original creation, his continual work in holding all of creation in existance by his own power, his later subjection to the normal limits of humanity after the point of his birth as a human, his death in our place for ALL of our sins, his burial for three days, and his own, personal, self-Resurrection (THIS ITEM IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ACT FOR CURRENT ACTIVITY AND TRUST IN HIM BY CHRISTIANS AS IT PROVES HIS DIVINITY TO AND SALVATION FOR US AS WELL AS ALL ELSE ASSOCIATED AND SPOKEN BY HIM.), and all of his future acts promised by his word and the words of the prophets and disciples in his name or about him.^

Now, how's that for a dense and complex view of my daily prayers? Oh, and by the way, if you normally get comments from me on here or Facebook in ANY way whatsoever, you ARE in the 'daily' list by name, nickname or sign-in name. .

East

-er's coming up soon.

I thought I'd take this time to say a few basic things:

1. Jesus died. He died one of the most horrible and cruel deaths humanity has ever devised. He died unfairly. He died insulted by both enemies and friends. He died ONLY because (you and) I sinned... even once. He died for us.

2. During the 24 hours preceding his death on the cross, Jesus was beaten in such a way that many men died from such beatings.

3. He was exhausted by merely trying to breathe during his crucifixion.

4. The 'bag' around his heart was impaled by a VERY well trained Roman soldier to PROVE his death was not just seeming, but true and complete. This treatment is why his legs weren't broken to make sure he died before sundown, as the thieves both were treated, if they were still alive at this point.

5. He was buried in the grave of a rich man, although he 'made his grave' (or died) with robbers... both of these are O.T. items fortelling of the coming Messiah.

6. He was aware and in the holding cell for Heaven, Paradise (also called Abraham's Bosom due to the parable of "The Rich Man and Lazarus".)

SIDENOTE: This may or may NOT be the same Lazarus as Jesus resurrected previously, but WOULD be proof of God's mercy and humanity's evil if the Lazarus of the story was the one returned to life, who was then threatened by the Rich Man's brethren (the Bible says the leaders of Judaism at the time wished to kill Jesus' friend Lazarus - as a danger to their power! And who would be more powerful than the family of a Rich Man? Isn't that a SWEET little sidenote?)

Jesus had told the believing thief on the cross,"This day will you be with me in paradise." As to what paradise was, Hell before Jesus' Resurrection could be viewed as three parts:

Hades, Hell, Paradise. I don't remember if Hades was the holding cell for Hell or vise-versa, but I know Paradise was the pre-Resurrection holding cell for believers destined to Heaven by saving faith in the coming Messiah. Much like Hades and Hell had common themes: fire, pain, pit, continuing death, seperation, despair, SO also did paradise have much in common with Heaven: comfort, joy, abounding life, LIMITED communion (personal connection with man and God), hope.

Acts 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

When Jesus was Resurrected and Ascended to lay his self-sacrifice on the alter of God, all the believers in paradise were allowed into heaven (hence the promised return of the saints with Jesus, and the Apostles' being in Heaven (as part of the 24?) in Revelation.

6a. He rose on the third day. I used to think Thursday was required for 3 complete days, but I've come to believe that in 3 days is literally complete with parts of three days. Jesus himself said he would rise "ON" the third day, not "AFTER":

Matthew 20:18 Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,
Matthew 20:19 And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.

There are six or seven extra-Biblical historically honored writings that attest to the Resurrection. I won't deal with those, as I'm NOT personally educated about them, BUT I have noticed a few things about the Resurrection that some people seem to miss:

7. His closest friends didn't recognize him... which may indicate the effects of swelling, rather than some super-religious idea.

8. The Jews, to this day probably, quote the Jewish leaders of that day which say that the disciples carried Jesus away while the Roman guard (PLURAL) slept. Have you ever heard of a whole cadre of hardened Roman soldiers falling asleep ON DUTY? What do you think the Roman discipline for such unadulterated breach of discipline would be? This is the same army that only fought forward, because they were not ALLOWED armor for their backs, so that they could not turn and run!

"Decimation — a sentence carried out against an entire unit which had mutinied, deserted, or shown dereliction of duty. One out of every ten men, chosen by lots, would be beaten to death, usually by the other nine, who would be forced to live outside the camp and in some instances obliged to renew the military oath, the sacramentum." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_legion#Discipline

The Bible implies that the Roman soldiers lied in order to avoid such punishment. It actually states that they were TOLD by the Jewish leaders that they should say that the disciples took the body while the soldiers had fallen asleep, and for that the leaders would smooth things over with the army. This would be a VERY welcome out to a group of people who would otherwise have to kill each other based on 'random' drawings!

*** I have seemingly always wondered why ANYONE ever listened to this. My first question would be,"How do YOU know what happened while you were asleep?!" Even the quickest wits and deepest thinkers would be hard put to "prove" such a statement as the soldiers had made!***

9. Jesus was seen ALIVE, with holes in hands and side, by several of his close disciples and friends, and was seen at least at one point in time by 500 people!

10. He ate. Several times.

11. Here's an ODD one that no-one ever brings up, as far as I've ever heard:

Jesus did NOT have any BLOOD in his system during this time! To me, his words indicate something abnormal, 'missing':
Luke 24:39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

He had holes in his scalp, hands, feet, and side - and THAT ONE completely to the heart, and he was NOT noticable as dripping all over. I take this all to mean that whatever life he had was above normal biology as we understand it. You can expect these holes to never heal - they are badges of the greatest honor in the history of the world - sacrificial SAVIOUR of mankind!

12. Since we're on 12, how about the deaths of the apostles (and many of the other saints). ALL but John are historically remembered to have died as martyrs. I have heard people say that the disciples pulled a hoax and invented, or rather implemented deception based on Jesus' own words, Jesus' Resurrection. Then they were regularly beaten, rousted about, and ended up dying, all the while preaching and teaching the Resurrection, and EACH and EVERY apostle without denying Christ (some of the lesser saints may have cracked under torture - Pliney the Younger, sometime later, killed Christians if they would not repent, offer offerings to other gods and Ceasar, and verbally insult Jesus!) The fact that then IN crowd did NOT break, but individually kept to the story right to the grave says to me that THEY believed it!

13. The O.T. is FULL of foreshadowings of Christ - beaten, battered, dying, rising again, living forever as King and God... supposedly 800 seperate prophecies that reference Jesus himself. Some of these are: born in Bethlehem, born of a virgin, called back from Egypt, called a Nazarene (of the town, as opposed to Nazarite - the name of a certain type of vow or seperation to God), bruised for our iniquities, heck... Isaiah 53 reads like somebody ripped it out of the New Testament, and time-slipped it several hundred years before the actual situation!

I hope that these points help you to understand and appreciate some of the wonders of the Easter season!

Jesus is our only hope of salvation from our individual sins, ungodly actions or thoughts. We must believe in his pre-existant God-hood, his birth as the child of the virgin Mary, his sinless life, his words of salvation and love, his death, burial, and resurrection. We must trust in ONLY these things to pull us away from our deserved Hell, and toward eternal family-ship with God the Father through Jesus Christ our Lord!

May God direct, keep, and bless you and yours in this Easter season, and give you the courage to face any doubts (yours or others') and overcome them in the power and knowledge of the eternal and wise God who loves YOU enough to sacrifice life, joy, peace, ease, and honor for YOU! May he also give you the godly desires of your heart,

Love from the Furry One,

Clayborn

I'm not prayed up right now, so I don't know what will come about.

I usually end up posting a blog in reaction to other people's words, having thought deeply and soul-searchingly through my heart, mind, and the scriptures (in various orders).

On the other hand, right now I have no SPECIAL reason for blogging. No one has recently bugged me, insulted my God, or drawn me into particularly deep and respectful thoughts about my Father-God, or Saviour-God, or even my Spirit-God.

I've been snowed in most of the day, after having spent most of yesterday afternoon with an honorary aunt yardsaling and working with her son on his daily driver. Today I did not feel the desire to read my books, or watch my DVD's or watch most TV, although I ended up watching the NCIS marathon to the end. (I found it 'funny' that the order of the 'picked' episodes put the death of the first woman agent before her introduction into the series.)

I cooked a rather bland meatloaf..

I vid-cammed the snow with my 'new' 25 cent C cassette camera. I argued with my dog for entertainment 2 or 3 times - and he nipped me once. I watered my plants. I washed 1 load of laundry. I tried to find the first 1-3 episodes of "Burst Angel" on the net so I could see if I liked the series, and where the storyline comes from. I didn't think until now of checking on the OFFICIAL sites, which sometimes DO show ep1 or even several eps. How smart that ain't for me to forget. And I just checked, and they DO have eps 1-4! (but I'd prefer subs rather than dubs - so much for beggars and choosers. lol)

As to my rummage saling yesterday (I actually started singing what I know of "come sail away" thinking "sale" while I was starting the car. I bought a pocket knife, the vidcam, a dead light or two, some books (including a new Bible) some out of date software, a clipboard with a back-case and calculator, an FM broadcaster for MP3 players (on the off chance that I could BOOST the audio, which it couldn't), assorted kitchenware, and speakers. I also bought a pair of rubber boots, which I had been trying to convince myself to buy new, as I need a pair for upcoming house repairs (yes, there is a drain problem with the house, but I keep being in the cold, or having one...).

One of my mother's plants she left with me has budded after 4-6 years!

One of my co-workers gave me a 'scrap' car for a friend of mine two weeks ago. That's where we got the parts for the work on the car time mentioned earlier. Another co-worker offered me a minivan just to get it out of his yard, when he's through using it as a garage for the motor for his car. It needs cleaned and the rear axle replaced. It howls. So what? It's got a new this and that, and it runs pretty OK. I already have a taker for it, too. I feel like I'm "clay'slist" or "free-clay-bay". lol

Oh, and my very good friend Scott came by in the snow today in his 71 Monte Carlo... and I didn't get a vidcam shot of it - forgot until he started up and roared away. sigh. Said he went biking in yesterday's good weather. We watched TV for several hours. He seemed to get bored and left.  I'm not the best host.

Now, do you see the difference between prayed up and not?

I do. This is, if not drivel, definitely NOT worthy of a reply, no matter how personal it may be.

My step-dad lost his mother this week, and I just realized that I should send a note. How weak my interpersonal skills are at that level - notice/care/act.......

I should write that down somewhere. lol

I realized once again the other day while finishing Jeremiah, and starting Lamentations, that I never seem to be able to keep track of when it's God, Israel, Jeremiah, the king, the king of Babylon, the king of the future Babylon... I'm always confused about where the ideas are coming from... I know I miss so much.

Well, today there are no deep theological issues noted. It seems you can tell when the fire's burning!

May God direct, keep, and bless you and yours, and give you the godly desires of your hearts,

Clayborn
